Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry includes a range of reconstructive services ranging from whitening treatments and shaping to complete tooth replacement solutions. A variety of state-of-the-art treatment methodologies, tools and technologies are used here in our office to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.
Before any cosmetic dentistry procedure commences, Dr. Kaar will discuss your options with you so you understand the benefits and risks of each type of procedure. We will go over all costs associated with the procedure, what you can expect during the process, and any post-op maintenance required for your treatment. Here are just a few of the many cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer at Advanced Dentistry:
Teeth Whitening:
If you are looking for a brighter, whiter smile, professional teeth whitening might be the best option for you. Often, teeth become discolored, stained or dull from tobacco use or consumption of certain foods, drinks or medications. Compared to over-the-counter teeth whitening kits, professional teeth whitening is more effective and longer-lasting, allowing you to have a more dazzling smile in just one visit to our dentist office.
Bonding:
Bonding is an ideal cosmetic dentistry solution for anyone with chipped, broken, stained or cracked teeth. Bonding is a single-visit procedure that restores chipped or stained teeth by applying an etching solution and tooth-colored resin materials directly onto the affected tooth surface.
Veneers:
Dental veneers are paper-thin, tooth-looking shells that are cemented directly on the front façade of one’s teeth to change their appearance in shape, size or color. Veneers are ideal cosmetic dentistry solutions that enhance the appearance of teeth that have become chipped or worn down, are poorly shaped or crooked, or have spaces between them.
Dental Crowns:
Crowns, also known as caps, can be used either for function or appearance. In cosmetic dentistry, dental crowns are used to cover a misshapen or discolored tooth, restore a broken or worn tooth, or to hold a dental bridge in place. Crowns may be comprised of metal, resin, ceramic, or porcelain fused to metal. The type used depends on the placement in one’s mouth with natural tooth-colored materials being the preferred choice for visible teeth.
Enamel Shaping:
Shaping and contouring one’s enamel is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that is used to reshape, resize or reposition teeth that are crooked, overlapping, chipped or irregular in some other way. The enamel shaping process includes the removal and contouring of dental enamel and may be combined with dental bonding to achieve the ideal finish.
Dental Implants:
While dental implants are often used for functional purposes, they may also be used, in part, for cosmetic dentistry enhancements as well. Dental implants are ideal for those with missing or badly damaged or decaying teeth. This teeth replacement solution not only improves the function and health of one’s teeth and gums; it also help improve the appearance of one’s smile and facial structure by leaps and bounds.
Braces:
Braces, which can be comprised of metal, ceramic or clear plastic aligners, are used to straighten crooked, crowded or misaligned teeth for a natural improvement in one’s smile. The pressure applied on one’s teeth by using braces gradually repositions teeth over several months, which guide the teeth into an ideal position in one’s mouth.
Bridges:
Bridges are a permanent cosmetic dentistry procedure that replaces a missing tooth or set of teeth. The bridge, which contains a custom-designed prosthetic tooth or teeth, is anchored into place using natural adjacent teeth for support, literally bridging the gap where the missing tooth is located.
There are a number of other cosmetic dentistry procedures available at our office, so whether you want to even out crooked teeth, brighten up discolored teeth, change the shape of misshapen teeth, or permanently replace missing teeth, we offer a cosmetic dentistry procedure that will work for you.
